My Internet Explorer 8 Could Not Open, But Just Create A Shortcut. What Should I Do To Resolve This Problem?

I repaire my Windows-XP, after that when try to open Internet explorer from desktop it can’t be open just create a shortcut on desktop. But from start menu it will open on lower version. As I have installed Internet Explorer-8 before upgrading window. Please suggest me any solution, how I start my Internet Explorer-8. from desktop icon.
well once when i could not open my internet explorer i thought that i was in trouble but then someone told my wife to download the mozilla firefox. the link is mozilla firefox.com/downloads there u will install the software is another web browser since then i haven’t had any problems with my internet. well hopefully this will resolve ur problem
there may be a virus in your system, try removing it with a good anti virus, or format the hard drive and reinstall windows..
Try going to C:Program FilesInternet ExplorerInternet Explorer.exe
open it manually
The best way is to map your internet explorer to a shortcut key and open it through a combination of keys like CNTRL+ALT+ E. Instead of E you can put anything. It is very simple to implement. it sounds like someting went wrong with the install.. try reinstalling it
You need to reinstall it. It possibly is missing a file or something like that.
Ie8 sucks 7 was good but im using chrome its really good.
