Any Suggestions On Old Names That End In Ie?

Submitted by admin on November 7, 2009 – 3:50 am31 Comments

I have two grandsons, Charlie and Alfie. My third grandson is due in March and I have been trying to think of names that end with ie (I was asked)!! Any suggestions please? Thanks.

  • Robin says:

Maxie, Johnie, Willie, Howie, Gorgie, Laurie, tomie, Eddie,

  • Lena K says:

Charlie and Alfie are diminutives of the names Charles and Alfred, so just choose a name you like – and add the ‘ie’ – thus Frederick becomes Freddie, Thomas becomes Tommie. Hope you find a name that everyone likes. I expect you have had every name under the sun offered and I can’t read all the answers but here are some I like:
    Johnnie, Frankie, Georgie, Ronnie, Zackie.

  • Caroline says:

Ernie, Archie, Reggie, Howie, Richie, Eddie, Willie, Lenny, Freddie, Larry, Herbie, Barney, Stanley, Bucky, Vinny, Louie, Harvey, Wally, Arnie, Artie, Dougie, Donnie, Rickie, Rudy, Jimmie, Denny, Benny, Danny, Lonnie, Percy, Grady, Rodney, Stewie, Darry, Ronnie…..etc.

I love Maxxie, Ollie, Archie and Freddie. So cute for a little boy! There are quite a few more girls names, and sorry these are the only boys ones I can think of, but they go fairly well with Charlie and Alfie (gorgeous names by the way!)
